One Step closer to a Sport and Rec Facility in Lane Cove

Last night at the August Lane Cove Council Meeting The Sport & Rec facility plans for River Rd were finally approved to proceed to DA.
While the approved concept is one court less than originally planned (with 4 indoor courts and 4 outdoor courts) it was yet a resounding win – with 7/8 councillors voting FOR the motion.
There has been a mountain of work going on behind the scenes to get this outcome. I would like to thank the LCNC Committee particularly Toni Luke and Brendan Hood, who have been helping me campaign and advocate for this facility with basically anyone who’d listen!! Also a shout out to Toni Field and Belinda Bernstein and who have been advocating in their capacities as representatives of Northern Suburbs Netball Association.
This is far from over, (we’re only just at submitting DA) but it is a step in the right direction.
Additionally our nomination to be in the Sporting Club Advisory Committee was endorsed last night. Ensuring netball is represented at Council so that initiatives (like the Sport and Rec Facility) provide fit for purpose solutions that meet our very real and growing demand now and in the future.
